This vintage wet specimen has been lovingly restored by the Rest in Pieces Team.
This juvenile sawshark is a member of the shark (Pristiophorus) family and is found commonly around Australian coastlines. It can be identified by a long snout with rows of small teeth and barbels on either side. It uses its barbels to detect prey on the ocean floor which it then hits with its snout to immobilise it.
These specimens have been acquired from teaching facilities around Australia and have been cleared of all toxic chemicals, the jars have been hand cleaned and the specimens reworked into a new and safe solution.
The jar measures approx. 33cm x 10cm
Please Note: This specimen is only available for pick up from our Melbourne HQ.
