This Chiton vintage wet specimen has been lovingly restored by the Rest in Pieces Team.

Chitons are marine molluscs of varying size in the class Polyplacophora, formerly known as Amphineura. About 940 extant and 430 fossil species are recognised. They are also sometimes known as sea cradles or "coat-of-mail shells", or more formally as loricates, polyplacophorans, and occasionally as polyplacophores

These specimens have been acquired from teaching facilities around Australia and have been cleared of all toxic chemicals, the jars have been hand cleaned and the specimens reworked into a new and safe solution.
